Trying to find the right wedding venue in Houston can be a difficult task. The city is massive, and so is the list of potential options. To make the job a little easier, though, we decided to give you at least a little head start.
The venues below are some that are well regarded in the area which cover a wide variety of budgets and wedding styles. We’d be surprised if you didn’t find at least one option on our list that matched your vision of a Space City wedding.
The Houstonian — This hotel, spa and event venue is just 2 miles from uptown and a half mile from Memorial Park. They have multiple beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, including the option above, with impressive oaks whose limbs go on for days. The property has 27 acres of forests, gardens and trails that form a stately backdrop for a wedding ceremony.
The AvantGarden — If you are looking for something a little more on the artsy, edgy side, you may enjoy the vibe at the Avant Garden. The venue is in the Midtown area of town in a late 1800s historical building. The weddings take place on a back patio, but guests can mingle at one of the three bars or the front patio with a scenic fountain.
The Grove — In the heart of downtown’s Discovery Green area, and with their floor-to-ceiling windows providing views of both the downtown and the park, the Grove creates a lively environment that your guests will adore and which you will remember for the rest of your life. There are outdoor spaces like the Lake House and the Grace Event Lawn, but even inside spaces like the Treehouse or the Primavera Room give a sense of being surrounded by natural beauty.
The Intercontinental Hotel — For a more classic, elegant location, the Intercontinental at the Medical Center may be what you’re looking for. Their Live Oak Ballroom is one of the largest in the region, holding over 1,000 guests in over 7,600 square feet. They also offer “micro weddings” in the Presidential Suite, a beautiful terrace or other tucked-away locations on site.
The Parador — A historic landmark built in 1928, the Parador stands out as an ideal wedding location for those enamored by classic architecture. The venue is in the museum district and works with some of the area’s finest caterers to provide for weddings large and small. There are multiple site options, including the Duomo, featured above, which has a 35-foot-tall dome, and the Garden, which is a beautiful place for an outdoor wedding for up to 220 guests.
Chateau Cocomar — You won’t believe northwest Houston’s French-inspired estate, the Chateau Cocomar, was built in 2005 in Houston, not 1700s Europe. The venue offers regal weddings in its 37,000-square-foot palace and 7.28 acre well-manicured grounds. There are multiple beautiful locations on site that their in-house event planners can help turn into a fairytale European castle-style wedding.
Ashton Gardens — And our last location is a bonus, because it’s really two locations — with a north Houston and a west Houston site. The north Houston site has a glass chapel, a ballroom, beautiful grounds and an executive chef on staff for any catering needs. The west Houston location has, well, pretty much the same thing. But once you see the glass chapel and their other amenities, you’ll see that’s not at all a bad thing.
Other great options to research on your own (and this list could go on and on) include: Bell Tower on 34th, Sam Houston Hotel, Royal Oaks Country Club, Las Velas, Chateau Polonez, and The Gallery.
